Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright: Confirmed for Europe and North America

Nintendo announced via its Nintendo Direct stream earlier today that Professor Layton vs Ace Attorney: Phoenix Wright will be released in Europe and North America in 2014. I am a huge fan of the both series, so this news is music to my ears. The game was released in Japan on the 29th of November 2012 and eagerly awaited fans (including myself) were starting to lose hope in seeing this game hitting English shores.

Japanese magazine giants Famitsu scored the game 35/40 and Kotaku regarded the game as a ‘pretty much perfect crossover.’ Layton vs Wright uses gameplay elements from both parent series.  The game’s cutscenes are animated by Bones, the studio which brought us Fullmetal Alchemist (original), FullMetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and many more. They also done the cutscenes for Ace Attorney 5.

My investment in the Nintendo 3DS just keeps getting more and more justified. Please mind me while I sit down next to my calender and countdown the days till Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright’s release.
