Spidey-Senses Tingling! My thoughts on SEGA acquiring Atlus!
I’ll keep this short. For those that don’t know Atlus is a company best known for it’s obscure but very stylish games, while more popular in Japan it has been growing a larger fanbase in the west with games such as the Megami Tensei series.

RIGHT! so for some reason I wasn’t too worried when I had heard the rumors of which companies were looking to save Atlus from the brink, I kinda knew they would land on their feet.
I heard Sega expressed interest which I foolishly laughed off and then I was greeted with the news that they have now sealed the deal with Atlus! (Which ruined my day at work due me feeling at odds all fucking morning!)
Now you might ask why should this worry me? Or why would I not be happy about it? (Especially since those that know me, know I like Sega for the most part)
Well having worked for Sega for a while and seeing certain practices behind the scenes (can’t say too much otherwise i’ll probably end up in court or some shit!) But I do worry that they might not be able to cope with the sheer quality of an Atlus project if left to their own devices
I just hope that the current staff at Atlus stay and the tone of the games remain the same.
Although it also could be a good thing since a lot of Atlus games don’t see a European or Western release so perhaps all that will change too…so I guess it isn’t all bad.
But should the first Atlus Project from Sega be subpar I can guarantee that some ex-colleagues will be seeing me sooner than expected!
It would be interesting to hear what others think in the comments
